In a World of Fast Fashion, Handmade Jewellery Endures
In a world of fast fashion and fleeting trends, fine jewellery remains timeless. Chosen with intention, worn with meaning, and passed through generations, handmade fine jewellery transcends trends and becomes a part of who we are.
Unlike mass-produced accessories, handmade is not an impulse — it’s a legacy.
Each piece tells a story, shaped by hands that understand legacy, artistry, and the profound beauty of time.
Why Choose Handmade Fine Jewellery?
Handmade jewellery offers something that machine-made cannot: care. Each creation holds ‘maker’s marks’— subtle signs of the human endeavour and skill that goes into perfecting each and every piece.
Crafted through generational knowledge, handmade jewellery is defined by:
- Timelessness: Designed beyond trends, these pieces retain relevance and elegance that can be passed down generations. They are imbued with passion and purpose from the very beginning of their journey.
- Artistry: Created by skilled artisans, they reflect deep craftsmanship and thoughtful detail.
Every handmade piece carries a story: from the first sketch to the final polish, it is shaped by artistry and care. - Durability: Built with experience and superior materials, handmade pieces are made to last
This individuality makes each jewel truly one-of-a-kind. More than an accessory, it becomes a symbol of meaning, memory, and personal connection. To wear handmade is to wear something with soul.

Our Commitment to Craft
At PureJewels, we are custodians of tradition.
Our story began in 1950 in Nairobi, with Bhanji Gokaldas, a master Indian goldsmith. Today, this legacy thrives in our London atelier, where we continue to honour heritage through contemporary design.
We are one of the few luxury jewellers with an in-house workshop. Every PureJewels creation is shaped with reverence carefully made, not simply produced. Our artisans blend ancient techniques with a modern sensibility to ensure each piece holds emotional and aesthetic value.
We do not rush what should be eternal.
Craft Techniques We Champion
Techniques matter—they define the texture, detail, and integrity of each jewel. At PureJewels, we preserve and adapt traditional methods to bring each design to life:
- Die Stamping in the Rosette Collection delivers striking motifs with crisp detail and enduring wearability. We continue to use our decades-old dies in modern designs, honouring the heritage crafts that shaped the foundation of our brand.
- Wax Carving in the Lotus Collection allows for organic, flowing forms—each one carved by hand to evoke an artistic, sculpted feel.
- Wire Drawing in the Zariya Collection speaks of strength through simplicity. Delicate strands of gold are drawn and twisted by hand, creating elegant pieces defined by contemporary structure.
- Granulation, used in our modern collections, transforms an ancient Indian technique into modern detailing—fine gold granules are formed and fused one by one, resulting in rich, tactile embellishment.
- Stone Setting by Hand ensures that each diamond or gemstone is secured with care and precision—allowing natural light to reflect through the facets and bring each jewel to life.
- Polishing and Finishing by hand gives every piece its final character—be it soft curves, a radiant mirror shine, or a matte brushed texture, enhancing the individuality of the design.
PureJewels has won countless awards for our handcrafting techniques in just the few years we have opened our in house atelier – testament to our passion and excellence in hand making. To us, these are not just techniques; they are acts of devotion to the craft.

Blending Tradition and Technology
We believe innovation should enhance, not replace, tradition. At PureJewels, modern tools like CAD assist in refining with efficiency and practicality, but the essence remains handcrafted. These processes allow us to innovate with precision and detailed control to create the very best results. These technologies when paired with our plethora of hand crafts creates a careful balance that ensures precision without compromising soul. The result? Jewellery that is not only flawless—but full of life.
Why Handmade Matters Today
In choosing handmade, you’re supporting more than design—you’re upholding values:
- Sustainability: Handmade jewellery naturally encourages slower, more mindful production. This includes the recycling and alloying of our own metals and producing as much as possible in house to reduce our carbon footprint.
- Ethical Making: Every piece is made with care by experienced craftspeople that we value. We believe creating the best working conditions create the best results, and as a result, our workshop is a beautiful, safe and exciting environment that fosters the furthering of our craft.
- Cultural Preservation: Your choice helps sustain rare crafts that might otherwise fade. We care about teaching these crafts to the next generation, and creating pieces that translate our heritage into future-proof designs.
- Emotional Resonance: Handmade pieces carry stories—from the maker to the wearer.
These are not just jewels—they are future heirlooms, each holding a quiet permanence.

A Jewel With a Soul
At PureJewels, we believe jewellery should do more than sparkle—it should speak. It should tell a story of where you’ve been and what you value.
